In recent years, Archive Khanah has found a home in some of Slemani’s most significant cultural landmarks, each space carrying a unique legacy deeply connected to Kurdish history and intellectual life. We began at Piramerd House, the residence of the legendary Kurdish author and activist who founded the city’s first publishing house—a beacon for anti-colonial thought and literary innovation. The walls of Piramerd House echo with the voices of resistance and creativity, making it a fitting setting for safeguarding and sharing the Kurdish Sound Archive.
