About Us
SPACE21 promotes contemporary music, including experimental, electronic, noise, free improvisation, sound art, and sound archives in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Since 2017, SPACE21 has organised sound exhibitions and concerts in Slemani and other cities, showcasing works by local, national and international artists in public spaces. SPACE21's vision is to elevate sound art for audiences by transforming public spaces into artistic arenas. Additionally, SPACE21 aims to explore new perspectives on the culture of everyday life through sound. By emphasising listening, SPACE21 seeks to enable audiences to have new experiences of the places they inhabit and work, fostering new understandings of modern society and its challenges.
