The SPACE21 Residency programme fosters creative exchange and collaboration between local Kurdish artists and international practitioners in sound art, experimental music, and related disciplines. Our residency offers a unique platform for artists to immerse themselves in Slemani’s vibrant cultural context, share knowledge, and develop new work inspired by the city’s rich sonic heritage. Through the residency, selected artists have the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, collaborative projects, and cross-cultural learning. We create a dynamic environment where local and international perspectives meet, promoting the exchange of ideas, techniques, and artistic visions. Residents are encouraged to explore the city’s diverse spaces—historic sites, public venues, and contemporary studios—while engaging with the local community and contributing to the ongoing evolution of Kurdistan’s sonic landscape. The SPACE21 Residency culminates in public presentations, workshops, or performances, allowing artists to share their creative processes and outcomes with a wider audience. By supporting this exchange, SPACE21 aims to build lasting networks, inspire new artistic directions, and enrich the region’s cultural ecosystem. Join the SPACE21 Residency to become part of a global community dedicated to innovation, dialogue, and the boundless possibilities of sound.
