As part of the 10th edition of the SPACE21 Festival in Slemani, a new strand of workshops will be launched for young people. The SPACE21 Youth Workshops are designed to actively engage participants in the creative processes of listening, sound- making, and performance, ensuring that the next generation is not only exposed to contemporary music practices but also empowered to shape their own artistic contributions. The workshops will run in parallel with the main festival program, offering participants aged 14–21 opportunities to work directly with festival artists and educators.

Each workshop will be hands-on and interactive, introducing participants to a wide range of practices, including:
1. Listening walks to explore Slemani’s sonic environment and connect with the city in new ways.
2. Improvisation sessions to build confidence, encourage experimentation, and foster collaboration.
3. Creative composition activities where participants develop and structure their own ideas into musical pieces.
4. Sound-making and tool-building exercises, using simple materials and accessible technologies to make contemporary sound art approachable.
