event description

04/04 at 1:00 PM -> 4:00 PM
A collective radio listening experience aboard a city bus tour. Transforming the bus into a moving exhibition space, participants will tune into the landscape of radio frequencies that have long shaped the social memory of Kurdistan’s cities. Through curated broadcasts—news snippets, songs of liberation, and voices from the past—the tour revives the unique atmosphere of communal listening that once defined daily life on Kurdish buses. Historically, buses were much more than transport; they were vibrant social spaces where people exchanged stories, shared news, and looked out for one another. With economic development, this bus culture has faded, and the communal act of listening has lost its place in urban life. By gathering on the bus to listen together, the event rekindles a sense of collective care and attention, reminding us of the importance of shared listening in fostering unity and understanding—especially in times when the Kurdish community needs to come together as one voice and one ear. This radio listening tour invites participants to rediscover the power of listening and reclaim public space for cultural connection and reflection.
